MARY & NICK // Vintage Wedding

THE PROPOSAL (as told by Mary) When Nick turned 35 in August, I thought it was a great excuse to plan a big trip! I called his sister Traci and we decided to book a surprise trip for Nick and me and Traci and her husband Mark to go to Napa. Knowing how much Nick loves wine and how frequently he used to visit Napa when he lived in California, it seemed like the perfect place to celebrate.
Little did I realize that he was secretly planning to propose while we were there! On our second day, we had been to a couple wineries in the morning before we got to Quintessa. Our tour guide Emily drove us up a hill where we looked out over gorgeous views of the valley. I was busy taking pictures when Nick came up to me, put his arm around my shoulder and asked, "Couldn't you just do this for the rest of our lives?" I responded (still unsure of what was about to happen), "Yes, let's go to Napa every year!!" He smiled, got down on one knee, and said "I want to do this with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?" I shrieked, incredibly surprised and almost forgot to say "Yes!" (but I did).
Traci and Mark were a few feet behind us snapping photos like the one above and we spent the rest of the trip celebrating!
